Port of Porto Torres – ferries to Sardinia
Porto Torres is one of the most important ports in northern Sardinia, offering regular ferry connections to mainland Italy and France.
How to get there
Porto Torres is easily accessible from Sassari via the SS131 main road. The nearest airport is Alghero Fertilia.
Useful information
Located in the North West of Sardinia, Porto Torres is the second largest airport on the island for passengers and goods. It is considered a multipurpose port, and is divided into three areas: the civic port (divided into Ponente piers, Dogana Segni quay and Alti Fondali quay) intended for ro/ro, passenger ferries, freight ships and pleasure craft; the industrial port (consisting of two docks that can be used for ferries, cruises, solid cargoes and liquids) and a terminal on the breakwater which until a few years ago was intended for the traffic of solid fuels (mainly coal) and liquids (fuel oil). The port has large capacity for both passengers and vehicles and plays a strategic role in maritime transport between Sardinia and continental Europe.
